28th report: Adapting Institutions to Climate Change
The RCEP's 28th study on Adpating Institutions to Climate Change is due to be published in spring 2010.
The Commission are entering the final stages of the evidence gathering process, taking oral evidence from expert witnesses. The writing phase is well underway.
The Commission will shortly be publishing the evidence they received in support of the adaptation study.
In the meantime we are able to publish the outcome of a commissioned report on 'Helping to deliver Climate Change Adaptation Through the UK Planning System', conducted by the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA). The aim of the report was to understand the powers and duties available through the planning system to enable and deliver adaptation to climate change. In addition the TCPA hosted a workshop in July 2009 between TCPA, the RCEP and other parties to discuss the report's findings and identify the high level issues with respect to the planning system and adapting to climate change. A short workshop report is also available here for download.
