  • Education Strategy 2010
    The UK Government believes that education is both a right, and a route out of poverty. Ensuring that by 2015 all children are able to complete a full course of primary schooling, and that gender disparities in all levels of education are eliminated – are at the heart of our commitment to eliminate poverty. This discussion explored how DFID can best achieve its commitments to education in the face of the global economic crisis and the context of fragile states.

  • Eliminating World Poverty
    A debate at the heart of development, which looked at the challenges facing the world today and the global solutions we must develop together to address the economic downturn, climate change and conflict and security. This consultation resulted in our new White Paper, Building our Common Future, which sets the path for our work ahead.

  • Southern Africa Regional Plan
    DFID recognises the potential of working regionally in Africa for building strong growth. As such the department is developing a new regional plan for its work across Southern Africa from 2011 onwards. This consultation sought your views on the major challenges for this region, who we should work with to overcome them and how we can do things differently.
