Jorum steering group
Terms of reference
To identify the potential for and develop strategic links between Jorum and other bodies in the UK, the commercial sector and international initiatives as well as the JISC-funded Digital Repositories programmes in order to:
- Increase the numbers of learning objects available for Jorum users
- Enhance the service that Jorum provides
- Expedite the development of Jorum.
Members of the Jorum Steering Group will do this by:
- Assisting the Programme Manager and Senior Responsible Officer
- Monitoring and supporting progress with current partnerships
- Acting as advocates of Jorum in their own areas of work and at conferences and events they attend, identifying additional opportunities for strategic links and bringing information about these to the group
- Having an oversight of Jorum R & D work and making recommendations on and informing the re-prioritising of this where forming strategic links with other bodies requires this
- Ensuring that the Data Centre Directors plan adequately for Jorum requirements by recommending that issues are included in their reporting structure as necessary
- Recommending additional funding for Jorum as required, and particularly in the area of building and maintaining international partnerships
