standards wherever possible.

Using our website
The RCUK website is maintained for your personal use and viewing. Access and
use by you of this site constitutes acceptance by you of these Terms and Conditions
that take effect from the date of first use.
The RCUK website makes use of the UK Government accesskeys standard as an alternative
form of navigation. Further information is available via the menu on the left hand
side of this page.
Downloads
The RCUK website predominantly uses Adobe's portable document format (PDF) for
document downloads, but in some cases may elect to use other formats. Help on downloading
and viewing these documents is detailed below. Where a download is available as
a PDF document, it will be made apparent by the use of this small PDF logo:
,
this "tooltip" text will display file size information when in context.
In addition to the small logo, there will be a small portion of text displayed
when you hover over the link to the file. This will simply read "PDF, 50KB" or similar,
this is informing you that the file is a PDF and that it is (in this example) 50KB
in size.
To view PDF documents, you will need to install Adobe's Reader software. This
is simple to do, just visit:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html and follow the download
instructions. This software "plug-in" will enable you to view PDF documents available
on both the RCUK website, as well as from the internet as a whole.
From time to time, the RCUK website will use different file formats for downloadable
content. Where this is the case, you will be informed on the page and a link will
be provided.
Providing you have a copy of Microsoft Office/Works, these should pose no problem
to you - simply select them and they will load in their respective environments.
If you do not have a copy of Microsoft Office/Works or the files are causing you
problems, you can download free document viewers from the Microsoft website.
You can download Microsoft's Word Viewer here:
