The Key Stage 4 curriculum: Increased Flexibility, Work-related Learning and Young Apprenticeship Programmes
This report evaluates how well schools are adapting the curriculum at Key Stage 4 to better meet the needs of students. The survey was based on visits to schools, colleges and training providers. It reports on changes to the curriculum in the light of new flexibilities available and the statutory entitlement to work-related learning. Some students have benefited from the opportunity to be part of new Young Apprenticeship Programmes and the report examines how well these are implemented.

The Secondary National Strategy
This report evaluates the impact of the Secondary National Strategy, formerly known as the Key Stage 3 Strategy, on schools and on pupils' attainment. The survey was based on visits to nearly 180 schools during the academic year 2004/05. The report evaluates the impact of the strategy on school leadership, on the quality of teaching and the curriculum, and on how it has influenced achievement and provision in different subjects.
