Local WSPP
The Workforce Strategy Partners Programme is CWDC’s funding scheme to support third and private sector engagement in workforce reform.
The aim of the local Workforce Strategy Partners Programme (WSPP) is to support the engagement of the third and private sectors in local workforce strategies and workforce reform.
In April 2007, an allocation of funding was made available to each children’s trust in England to support this work for a period of three years.
The amounts allocated were: -
- up to £20,000 for unitary authorities, metropolitan boroughs and London boroughs
- up to £30,000 for shire counties
The nature of WSPP projects differs from area to area, due to the focus on local workforce strategies, and the specific priorities with each local area.
The most popular areas of work during 2007-08 have been:
-
mapping the third and private sector workforce
-
undertaking training needs analysis
-
supporting capacity building within the third and private sectors
Significant delivery of training has also taken place, with over 5,000 individuals receiving training.
We have now funded 144 projects in England and a review of progress and learning during 2007 - 08 has been published. WSPP 2007 - 08 progress report
