Minister visits Skills Centre South West

Jim Knight, the Minister for Employment and Welfare Reform and Regional Minister for the South West, visited the Skills Centre South West in Bristol on 3 December to see how it offers advice and information about training and jobs.

Jim Knight MP, centre, talks to participants on the ESF funded Recruit and Train project during his visit to the Skills Centre South West.

The centre delivers free specialist support for businesses and helps local people gain the skills that employers need, focusing on the retail, tourism, hospitality, transport and security sectors. Three ESF projects - Recruit and Train, Response to Redundancy and Embedded Literacy - are delivered at multiple sites across Bristol including the Skills Centre.

Jim Knight said "Skills Centre South West is an excellent example of organisations working together to help local people in Bristol and also help put the region on the road to recovery."
