Tours for Two are sold as vouchers which can be redeemed on a date of your choice and are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Just call or email us when you’d like to arrange a date for your tour.
The voucher will automatically be posted to the purchaser, if you are buying it as a gift and would like us to send it to the recipient on your behalf, please contact the tours department on 020 7887 4946 or by email.

A private tour is an excellent way to get the most out of a visit to Tate Britain. There are many tours and packages to choose from.
Our Private Tours highlight key works from the permanent collection of British Art from 1500 to the present day. Choose from our selection of tours or arrange a tailor made tour to suit the specific needs of your group.
Choose one of the following tours:
- General Highlights
- Introduction to British Art
- British Art - 1500 to 1900
- British Art - 1900 onwards
- J W M Turner
- Pre-Raphaelites
The cost of these tours is £9 per person, with a minimum charge of £135. All
tours are available in other languages at a cost of £14 per person, with
a minimum charge of £210 (subject to availability).
These tours last for 1 hour.
Tailor made tours
- Enjoy a tour of Tate Britain tailored specifically to the interests of
your group. Whether it is a particular artist, genre or the history
of Tate Britain that you would like to focus on, we can arrange a tour to
suit your needs.
These tours last for 90 minutes.
Tailor made tours (including foreign language tours) cost £14 per person,
with a minimum charge £210, and last for 90 minutes.
Maximum group size is 25 per tour; larger groups can be accommodated although a surcharge may apply for additional tour guides.
Tours are available during gallery opening hours and last for one hour.
Group leader goes free for groups of over 15 people. Please book at least two
weeks in advance.
There is a £50 surcharge for tours or slide lectures taking place on a Bank holiday.
