Job opportunities
From time to time vacancies arise within the RCEP Secretariat. Members of the Secretariat are on loan from other Government departments, mainly from Defra. These posts are normally filled internally via the Defra resourcing system but from time to time they are advertised civil service wide (www.careers.civil-service.gov.uk/).
The RCEP is also a partner in the Natural Environment Research Council's (NERC) Policy Secondment scheme for NERC-funded PhD students, whereby students complete a three month placement with RCEP, contributing to the major study at that time. The RCEP recently had two students working for three months on papers in support of the Adpating the UK to climate change study.
