Online evaluation put to the test

Over the next few weeks some social care providers have volunteered to test if Ofsted’s system for online self-evaluation forms (SEF) works effectively.

After making any technical changes needed, we will then ask all children’s homes, residential family centres, fostering and adoption services to give their views on the form – how easy it is to use, the content of the guidance and the clarity and appropriateness of the questions we propose to ask.

All social care providers will be able to familiarise themselves with the online SEF for at least three months before it is used for inspections from April 2010 onwards.
