Cabinet Office Director-General Campbell Robb moves to Shelter

Campbell Robb, Director General of the Office of the Third Sector and Social Exclusion, has announced he will take up a new post at Chief Executive of major UK housing and homelessness charity Shelter.

Campbell Robb was appointed as the first Director-General of the Office of the Third Sector in May 2006. During this time he has successfully delivered a comprehensive programme of support for the sector, worth over £515m. Under his leadership, OTS has delivered a further package, worth over £60m targeted on supporting the sector through the recession.

Angela Smith, Minister for the Third Sector and Social Exclusion, said:

“Campbell has worked tirelessly to ensure the delivery of a tremendous and unprecedented programme of support for the third sector. With his team, he has delivered targeted and comprehensive support for third sector organisations – and more recently socially excluded communities.

“We are committed to ensuring there is no loss of momentum and that the staff of the two departments continue to provide excellent support for social excluded communities and the third sector.

“While we are very sad to lose Campbell, we recognise this is an exciting opportunity for him and good news for Shelter. We wish him every success for the future.”

Cabinet Office will make an announcement on Campbell's replacement shortly.
