Launch of the Community Rail Development Strategy

On 22nd November the Secretary of State for Transport, Alistair Darling, launched the Community Rail Development Strategy.

The Minister for Transport, Tony McNulty MP, attended the launch ceremony in the Head of Steam Pub on Huddersfield station. The Minister and over 70 invited members and sponsors of hosts, the Association of Community Rail Partnerships, then took the train to Penistone. The Penistone line will be one of the pilot demonstration projects for the strategy.
