Printing pages from our website
Most of the time it is inconvenient and unnecessary to have to print every part of a web site’s page, as this will include navigation bars and formatting elements. We use a technique called print style sheets to avoid you having to printing these elements.
We recommend the following minimum browser specifications:
For Windows users:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, and Opera 7.0
For Mac users:
- Opera 7.0 and Safari
For Linux users:
- Opera 7.0
Browsers and versions, other than those listed above, such as Mozilla Firefox, may allow you to access the site and use the pages but might not display the site as designed or allow you to access all the functionality.
To check for the latest version of your browser version, please visit the supplier's web site and follow any instructions provided.
This site has been designed to be viewed at a minimum display setting of 800 x 600 pixels and 16-bit colour.
Portable Document Format (PDF)
PDF is a file format that lets you view and print a document exactly as the author designed it. It is an Internet standard for electronic distribution that faithfully preserves the look and feel of the original document complete with fonts, colours, images, and layout. To view these documents you need to use a PDF file viewer such as Adobe Acrobat Reader which is available to download free of charge from the Adobe website.
Opening and saving PDF documents
When selecting a link to a PDF document, a blank screen appears before the document is opened, and if you have a slow connection, a delay can give the impression that nothing is happening. Either allow more time or save the file to your computer by right clicking on the link and selecting the "Save" option.
If you have Real Download installed on your computer, this can sometimes prevent PDF files from opening properly. Uninstalling Real Download will solve the problem.
For help on using Adobe Acrobat Reader visit Adobe's support pages.
Compressed ZIP files
Some files on the site are in a compressed format called "zip". Zip files contain one or more original files. They save time and space, and make downloading documents faster. Your computer operating system may already have built-in support for Zip files, otherwise you will need to obtain suitable software to uncompress these files.
