Journey planner

Journey planner helps you find the quickest, easiest and cheapest route door to door to anywhere in Great Britain and provides full directions, live travel information and maps. It also lets you compare CO2 emissions for different forms of transport so you can choose the greenest option.

All your travel options in one place

The journey planner provides you with:

  • various routes, modes of transport and journey times for the same trip
  • a joined up journey plan for different modes of transport, eg connections between buses and trains
  • ticket prices - with links to websites where you can buy them
  • an estimate of CO2 emissions for journeys by car or public transport
  • live travel information for the road and rail networks

Using the planner

Use the planner to:

  • discover local bus and train services
  • find your nearest car park or park and ride service
  • get step-by-step instructions for your car journey
  • locate hotels, tourist attractions or local services
  • plan your best journey to work
  • discover an alternative route to avoid roadworks
  • show you the quickest way to the airport
