A statement of your employment rights and responsibilities

By answering a series of questions, this tool will provide you with a personalised overview of your main employment rights and responsibilities. You should check if there are any other conditions you need to meet to qualify for any of the rights outlined on the statement.

The rights outlined in the statement are your minimum legal rights. You should check your contract of employment to see whether your employer offers enhanced benefits.

Before you start

Before you start, you will need to know (among other things) whether you are classed as a 'worker', 'employee' or 'self-employed'. These have a specific legal meaning so if you're unsure you should check the article below for more information.

Statement of employment rights

This tool usually takes less than ten minutes to complete, and you will not need to answer more than ten questions.

This is not a substitute for professional advice. You may also want to consult an advice body, professional advisor or trade union.

The information gathered by this tool is only used to produce the final statement and is not stored or transmitted to third parties or used for any other purposes.
