The specialist helpdesks at the Central Community Transit Office (CCTO) in Harwich provide information on Community transit simplifications and various aspects of the NCTS, including fallback. Contact numbers are as listed below.

If you have a general enquiry regarding the Community/common transit procedures, you should contact the VAT, Excise and Customs helpline.

NCTS trade test service

The most recent version of the NCTS Generic Test Pack is now available for testing.

Email channel

The email channel test environment is accessed by sending EDIFACT messages to the following addresses:

Note: These email addresses must only be used for NCTS testing.

XML channel

The SDS Team is the developers’ main point of contact within the Electronic Business Unit during the development and testing of their products.

They can be contacted Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on Tel 01274 534666, or by email at sdsteam@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk. They will then provide you with the technical pack that will enable you to start developing the required code.

Alternatively, access the online NCTS XML trader test pack and other related NCTS XML documents.

For enquiries in relation to commercial packages please contact your software supplier.

Manual intervention

For both channels, the NCTS Trader Test team carry out the manual intervention required by some of the message exchange scenarios provided in the NCTS trader test pack.

To use this facility send an email to NCTS.tradertestteam@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk giving the test Declaration number being used from the test pack and the LRN/MRN. The Trader Test Team can also be contacted on Tel 01702 366858.

The Simplified Declarations require no interaction from the NCTS Trader Test Team.
