Power Programme

Driving Low Carbon Economies across Europe

POWER is a €5.8m inter-regional programme aimed at driving Low Carbon Economies partly funded through INTERREG IVC in seven European regions:

  • Andalucia (Spain)
  • Emilia-Romagna (Italy)
  • Malopolska (Poland)
  • Noord-Brabant (The Netherlands)
  • South East England (England)
  • Stockholm (Sweden)
  • Tallinn (Estonia).

The overall objective of the POWER Programme is to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies through the exchange, sharing and transfer of policy experience, knowledge and good practices under five sub-themes:

  • Energy Efficiency
  • Renewable Energies
  • Eco-innovation and environmental technologies
  • Sustainable transport
  • Behaviour Change.

Two calls will be organised to select up to 12 interregional sub projects inviting local and regional stakeholders to participate in joint co-operation and initiatives.

Sub Projects will be encouraged to share ideas and knowledge with other participating sub projects and beyond the participating regions where possible.

Launch of the Programme: A second round for funding will be opened on Thursday 15 October 2009 - Partner Fair in Seville, Spain, the 2nd call will close on Friday 15 January 2010 at 4pm UK time.

The Italian partner region has already committed all its funding on the first call and will not be participating in the second call.

Potential sub projects may register their interest on the partner search facility on the POWER website.
