The instructor standards project
We have published the outcome of three pieces of research which form the main parts of the Instructor Standards Project. The aims and objectives of this project are described in the Autumn 2004 and Summer 2005 editions of Despatch.
The reports now published are:
- Professional Driving Instructor Competency Framework, Parts 1 and 2, by Red Scientific Limited
- Developing a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme for the Driving Instruction Industry, by 5S Consulting Limited.
- DSA Continuing Professional Development for (CPD) for ADIs Feasibility Study , by Dr Elaine Freedman, Researchers for Education.
DSA will be considering the recommendations made in these three reports and discussing with stakeholders before deciding on a way forward.
The research by Pearson into developing an Attitude and Aptitude Assessment, with assistance from the British School of Motoring, is currently taking place. We expect the outcome of that work to be published in the early part of the New Year.
Please note the reports identified above can be accessed via links in the right-hand column. The words 'Continuing Professional Development' have been shortened to 'CPD' in the titles.
