| Read some of the suggestions for the Canongate Wall |
Over the past few months we've been asking members of the public to suggest a new quotation to be added to the Canongate Wall at Holyrood, marking a decade of devolution.
Announcing the start of the search, Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson MSP said: “The Canongate Wall was always supposed to be a living wall – one that we would add to when the time was right. We believe that time is now."
The winning entry, to be unveiled on St Andrew's Day, will be carved in the Wall alongside the existing 24 quotations, many of which commemorate the work of Scotland’s leading writers. You can now read a selection of the submissions we've received.
For more information, go to the Canongate Wall pages, where you can also read about the existing quotations and watch a short video about the Canongate Wall. |

| World Press Photo exhibition at Holyrood |
The World Press Photo exhibition, currently on display in the Parliament's Main Hall, runs until tomorrow. The event, which has been hosted annually at Holyrood for the past three years, showcases the work of prize-winning photojournalists from across the world.
This year's gallery includes a black-and-white picture (right) by American photographer Anthony Suau which was chosen as Photo of the Year by an international jury. The picture shows an armed police officer moving through a home in Cleveland, Ohio, after its residents were evicted due to a mortgage foreclosure. |
