European Business Test Panel

The European Business Test Panel (EBTP) is an online consultation tool launched in 2003 as a joint initiative between EU Member States and DG Internal Market and Services. Its aim is to help improve and expand consultation links with the business community throughout the EU. Feedback is obtained from businesses of all types and sizes on the EU Commission legislative proposals or initiatives likely to have an impact on the business community.

Each year the Commission sets out a series of major new policy initiatives and working through national coordinators, EBT Panel members are requested to respond to a particular consultation which is expected to have a considerable impact on their operations. Members will be given a time period of at least two weeks in which to submit their responses through online surveys over the internet.

It is expected that there will be a maximum of six to eight questionnaires per year and each which will take about 15 - 20 minutes to complete.

Membership of the EBTP is voluntary and lasts for an undetermined period, with a minimum of one year. To date, over 300 companies in the UK have signed up to be members. A company can apply for membership to the national coordinator in the country where the company is located. The UK national coordinator is Dulcie Lawrence.  Contact details are below.
