New key stage 2 scheme of work for languages

A new key stage 2 scheme of work, with units for French, German and Spanish, has been developed that covers all years of of key stage 2 and suggests a way of enabling learners to meet the objectives of the Key stage 2 framework for languages (DfES, 2005). Below, you can download the French, German and Spanish units in PDF or RTF format, as well as the Teacher's guide and Overviews.
Units 1-12 (for years 3-4) are complete. Units 13-24 (for years 5-6) are in draft form and are currently being trialled. They will be published in their final form on this website early in 2009.
All the units are also available on the Schemes of work website at www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/schemes.
A printed version of units 1-12 in each language, together with the Teacher's guide and Overviews, can be ordered from the QCA Orderline - http://orderline.qca.org.uk.
The former QCA key stage 2 scheme of work, first published in 2000, has been removed from the Schemes of work website. It will continue to be available in hard copy until the end of 2008 (stocks permitting) and can be ordered from the QCA Orderline.
