Introduction
Welcome to this public consultation website from the Department for International Development
What is this about?
This site was set up to allow all members of the public, to read and discuss our public consultation document, Eliminating World Poverty: Assuring our Common Future.
The consultation is now closed. We are no longer accepting new comments on this site or via email. Any comments received after 27 May 2009 will not be considered for publication.
Changes to this site
This site and all comments made so far will be kept visible on these pages until our forthcoming White Paper is published.
You can still read the comments, ideas and suggestions that were put forward until that time by browsing through The Document using the left menu. Thank you to all those who submitted comments.
What happens next?
All the comments posted on this site will feed into the White Paper. This will be published within the next two months and made available at www.dfid.gov.uk
The White Paper will help to refine Government policy to eliminate world poverty over the next five years.
DFID will also produce a consultation report which will:
- Highlight issues, recommendations and suggestions raised throughout the consultation process
- Demonstrate how the consultation inputs fed into the drafting of the White Paper, and into the White Paper itself.
Future consultations
DFID is committed to getting the views of relevant parties to shape the debate on how to fight poverty. You can find details of all our consultations at www.dfid.gov.uk/Working-with-DFID/Consultations/
