Planned Changes To Company Documents Provided On Microfiche
In recent years demand for copies of microfiche records has reduced dramatically. We ceased updating the microfiche records in 2002 and with the introduction of the Scan upon Demand Service demand has continued to fall. As our current fiche copying equipment is deteriorating and replacement parts are becoming impossible to obtain, we have been seeking an alternative method of providing the information to customers.
Arriving at the best alternative, we plan to cease production of microfiche and to provide the contents of the microfiche records onto DVD Rom from Monday 6th December 2010.
How will customers order the DVD Rom versions of archive information?
The ordering facilities currently available for fiche will be converted to order the information via DVD Rom. This will be via the Companies House Direct Service, Contact Centre and Information Centres.
What will the cost of the new service be?
The DVD Rom will cost £20.00. As with all of Companies House products and services the fee is calculated on cost recovery principles. For your information, had the microfiche product continued it would have risen substantially based on this costing.
