More proportionate inspections for further education colleges
Short inspections for the best colleges and closer monitoring for those which are inadequate, or satisfactory but not improving, will be introduced from September 2007 following strong support from the sector during consultation.

Support for inspection from schools and pupils
A pupil poll and an independent assessment of Ofsted’s work have demonstrated support for school inspection and also pointed the way to further improvement.
