We represent central government in the region and our role is to promote better and more effective integration of Government policies and programmes at a regional and local level.

In October 2008 the Prime Minister established a National Economic Council to provide a new approach to coordinating economic policies across Government. This is supported by the Regional Economic Council and the Council for Regional Ministers.

Draft Regional Spatial Strategy for the South East
Public consultation on the Government’s Proposed Changes closed on Friday 24 October. The Government will now examine all comments and aims to publish the final version of the SE Plan in the New Year. Further details are on the Regional Planning page.
