General Affairs and External Relations Council (GAERC)

Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, attended the GAERC on 27 April. The meeting focused on a range of issues including Iran, the situation in Burma/Myanmar, the global financial situation and containing the spread of swine flu.

More support for Afghanistan

During a joint press conference with Hamid Karzai the Prime Minister announced millions of pounds in extra support for the Afghan government in the lead up to elections in August.
