Introduction

Welcome to this public consultation website from the Department for International Development

What is this about?
This site allows you, as well as all members of the public, to read, comment and discuss our public consultation document, Eliminating World Poverty: Assuring our Common Future.

It is your chance to explore the big questions facing the UK Government and its international partners in our efforts to eliminate world poverty – and to put forward your own ideas, thoughts and suggestions.

How do I get started?
You can navigate through the public consultation document in The Document section using the left menu. Throughout the document, you are invited to make comments on every page using the 'Your feedback' window to the right.

What happens next?
The comments you post on this site will feed into a new White Paper which we will publish in summer 2009. The White Paper will help to refine Government policy to eliminate world poverty over the next five years.

How else can I get involved?
We are holding 12 regional consultation events that give you the opportunity to ask a DFID Minister questions directly and to take part in further debate. Events are happening in Birmingham, Norwich, Bristol, Cardiff, Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle, Belfast, London, Southampton, Leicester and Edinburgh. Find out more and register your attendance here.
