With effect 1 April 2009 the posts of Director Defence Academy and Commandant Defence College of Management Technology re-title respectively to Director General Defence Academy and Director Defence Academy-College of Management Technology (abbreviated to DA-CMT).

A new series of webpages is now available that illustrate the work and collections of the libraries of the component colleges of the Defence Academy which provide a world-class information and research service to the staff and students of the Defence Academy and other library users.
Defence Academy leads NATO Anti-Corruption Course in Kabul
On the 11th February 2009, 38 leaders and mentors of the National Military Academy of Afghanistan graduated from an anti-corruption course (part of the Building Integrity in Defence Establishments collaborative programme) conducted over three days in Kabul.

International Conflict Management Exercise 31 October - 2 November 2008
Following the positive feedback from the inaugural Defence Academy International Conflict Management Exercise (ICME) held in June 2007 the second ICME was held here at Shrivenham in Beckett House over the weekend 1-2 Nov 08.
Defence Academy Visitors’ Day
On Friday 24th October, guests invited from the regional and local community visited the Defence Academy. The Visitors’ Day was conceived as part of a wider outreach programme designed to update and inform our guests on the composition of the Defence Academy and the activities within the constituent parts, and to explain the role we play in the community and the local economy.

Active Change Foundation became a charity in January 2008, but the Qadir Brothers and Mike Jervis started working together back in 2003 when between them they diffused a potentially serious clash between a Muslim gang and an Afro Caribbean gang.

The Defence Academy staged another successful Music and Fireworks extravaganza in aid of charity on Thursday 17th July 2008. This year the music was provided by the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Commando Training Centre led by their Director of Music, Captain Craig Burns.

On Tuesday 18 December and Wednesday 19 December, the Commanding Officer of Shrivenham Station, Wing Commander Peter Bray, presented cheques for £2,500 to both Faringdon Family Centre and Lower Shaw Farm.
