National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth: summer schools 2003

The National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth was established in February 2002. The first summer school was run that year. For summer 2003 the Academy expanded provision and ran 25 programmes at five centres. Ofsted visited each summer school and inspected at least one of the programmes in depth and others more generally.

National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth: summer schools 2004

The summer schools for gifted and talented pupils organised and coordinated by the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth, based at the University of Warwick, were first inspected in 2003. This purpose of the 2004 inspection was to evaluate the quality of provision and how far these recommendations had been addressed.

National Assembly for Wales' functions concerning advisory and support services for family proceedings

In 2005, the CAFCASS Service in Wales was devolved to the Welsh Assembly Government. This 2006 report by MCSI, available both in English and Welsh, describes how well organisational change accompanying CAFCASS devolution has been achieved. It also points to areas where improvements are needed and to wider changes affecting family justice where the CAFCASS dimension will be crucial.

NFER Teacher Voice Omnibus October 2008 survey: school inspections

In autumn 2008, the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) conducted research on behalf of Ofsted into teachers’ attitudes towards school inspection and what impact their inspections had. This was a follow-up survey to a similar one conducted in 2006.
