APA indicators for 2008
The attached reports present the indicators that contributed to the 2007 APA for local authorities on their services for children and young people. The data is shown for social care and non social (data) indicators and is provided for all 150 local authorities. In addition, a social care data analysis tool is enclosed to allow for in-depth examination of the social care information. The latest version of the social care analysis tool is v2.22 (2008).
Also attached, is the Labour Force Survey (LFS) data 2006 and 2007. This is the data used for indicator 5022SC - PAF CF/A4.

Pupils questionnaire - S5 and S162a
Inspectors talk to groups of pupils to find out their views about the school and what it provides for them.
Often schools have conducted a survey themselves of what pupils think. Inspectors can see the results of this and discuss how the school has taken what the pupils say into account.
In boarding schools, residential special schools and children's homes that offer education pupils are asked to complete this confidential questionnaire which gives the inspectors extra information about this aspect of the school's work

Health declaration booklet
This booklet must not be printed double-sided as it will be computer-scanned.
This form should be completed by:
- all applicants for registration as a childminder on the Early Years Register
- all childcare applicants who intend to work directly with children as part of the staff ratio
- the manager of the day-to-day running of the childcare provision
- other people specifically asked to complete it by Ofsted
- all applicants for registration to provide or manage social care services for children and/or young people.

The revised Ofsted Gender Equality Scheme sets out:
- how Ofsted currently meets its statutory duties in relation to gender equality
- how Ofsted assesses the impact of what it does on men and women
- how it supports and promotes gender equality through its employment functions
- what Ofsted intends to do over the next three years to develop and improve its work in this area

Handbook for inspecting colleges
This version of the handbook has been updated following the formation of the new Ofsted, which incorporates the former Adult Learning Inspectorate and the former Ofsted. It also reflects the outcomes of the consultation on the future of further education inspections conducted in January 2007. The supplement (September 2006) to the previous version of the handbook (May 2006) has been integrated into this document.
