Agency helps farmers prevent lead poisoning

The Food Standards Agency has produced a leaflet for farmers, giving advice to help them protect their livestock, business and the UK’s food from lead poisoning. Cases of lead poisoning on farms increase in the spring when animals are turned out into the fields.

Active brand peanut butter has been found to be contaminated with excess levels of aflatoxins. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Action advising local authorities that if any of these products are found during routine inspections, local authority food law enforcement officers should ensure the products are withdrawn from sale and destroyed.
Morrisons recalls Chunky Vegetable Curry

Wm Morrison Supermarkets has recalled all its cans of own-brand Chunky Vegetable Curry (410g), because the product contains wheat gluten, celery and mustard, which are not mentioned on the label. Therefore, this product is a possible risk to people who are allergic or intolerant to gluten, celery or mustard.
