Importation of blood products from third countries – certification requirements
Purpose
- To remind you of new certificates in place for the importation of certain blood products from Third countries.
Background
- Customer Information Note 2008/104 issued on 20 June advised that the certificates for certain blood products had been amended in accordance Regulation (EC) No 523/2008.
- It has come to our attention that consignments are still arriving accompanied by certificates (old style) that were in place prior to publication of Regulation 523/2008.
- This is to remind you that only consignments certified before 12 December can be accompanied by the ‘old style’ certificates. These consignments will be allowed into the Community until 12 February 2009.
- Any consignments certified on or after 12 December must be accompanied by the revised certificates laid down in Regulation 523/2008.
- Any consignments not accompanied by the correct certificates may be rejected and either re-exported or destroyed.
