The responsibility for the evaluation of serious case reviews transferred to Ofsted from the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) in April 2007.
Serious case reviews are undertaken by Local Safeguarding Children Boards where a serious incident occurs involving a child and abuse or neglect is known or suspected. This list shows the serious case reviews Ofsted has reviewed by a local authority between 1 April 2007 and 31 August 2008.
Ofsted will publish the outcome of further evaluations on a quarterly basis.
