Estimates of total final energy consumption in 2003, 2004 and 2005 have been made available here by aggregating the four main data sets shown above at both regional (NUTS1) and local (NUTS4) levels.
In March 2008 this dataset gained National Statistics status. This applies to all data from 2005 onwards. Please note that the 2003 and 2004 data are still classed as experimental.
Please note that the 2004 and 2005 datasets were updated on 28 February 2008. Further updates were made to the 2003 and 2005 datasets in April 2008.
In the 2003 dataset, revisions have been made to the road transport petroleum consumption for local authorities in Northern Ireland.
In the 2004 dataset, revisions have been made to the gas consumption in Argyll and Bute and Highland only.
In the 2005 dataset, revisions have been made to the electricity consumption in all local authorities and to the gas consumption in Argyll and Bute and Highland only. Revisions were later made to the road transport petroleum consumption figures for all local authorities.
