Education events

Welcome to our education service. We aim to give teachers and pupils the chance to be real historians. In our document workshops, you will learn by working 'hands on' with original sources and bring the past back to life.

We run workshops and events for students at all levels, from key stage 1 all the way through to undergraduates. Find out about forthcoming special events we are holding, or follow the links to information about workshops and inductions which are held all year round.

Education workshops

Key stage 2 workshop

The education service department holds a series of workshops that are delivered on site by our own education officers. These workshops are available for booking at any time of the year to suit your teaching requirements.

Academic inductions

Academic inductions

We hold academic group inductions aimed at postgraduates and researchers. Inductions are held on site at The National Archives and regionally at universities and colleges.

Undergraduate visits

Undergraduate visits

We can provide an introduction to The National Archives for undergraduates and their tutors. We'll explain what you can expect to find and how to get the best out of your research here.

The latest technology

Video conferencing

Our education room is equipped with the latest facilities, to help your students get the most from their workshop. Videoconferencing enables schools who can't get here in person to take part in workshops from their own classroom.
