Published on: 22 May 2008

Impact of regulation - one year assessment

This study, by Mark Boleat, the first Head of Claims Management Regulation, reviews the impact of regulation over its first full year of operation.

Claims Management Regulation became fully operational on 23 April 2007 and regulates businesses offering claim management services to the public in the fields of personal injury, criminal injuries compensation, industrial injuries disablement benefit, housing disrepair, employment and financial products and services.

The study takes the objectives of regulation as a starting point and looks at the impact of regulation on each of these sectors.
