This page explains our privacy policy and how we will use and protect any information about you that you give us when you visit this website.

The Data Protection Act

Under the Data Protection Act, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. (We use leading technologies and encryption software to safeguard your data, and keep strict security standards to prevent any unauthorised access to it.)

What information do we collect?

We collect four kinds of information from visitors to info4local: details on email alert subscribers, feedback (through visitors emailing us), customer satisfaction surveys and site usage information, using cookies, log files and page tagging techniques, including JavaScript.

Email alert

The names and email addresses of subscribers to the info4local email alert service are stored on an electronic database managed by Communities and Local Government (the data controller). This database is only used to send subscribers requested information or to allow us and our contractors to consult them about info4local and how they use it.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback.

If you send us an email asking for advice or information that we are not in a position to give, we may forward your email on to the relevant department, agency, public body or other body for a response. If we do this, we will send you an email informing you of our actions.

We circulate feedback we receive to info4local stakeholders for information only.

Customer satisfaction surveys and other research

info4local periodically carries out customer satisfaction surveys and other research.

Taking part in research is optional. All information collected is purely for internal use, to help us refine and improve our service. Results are presented in a way that does not identify any individual's details or responses.

No personal details will be passed on to anyone other than those providing the info4local service and our external research contractors. They are contractually bound to maintain the security of personal information.

Site usage information: Cookies
