A Guide to E-mailing the Civil and Family Courts

A new rule and Practice Direction (PD 5B) which came into force on 6th October 2003 and revised in May 2004 permits parties in a case to communicate and file certain documents at specified county courts and the Commercial Court by e-mail.

Filing by e-mail is limited to the courts listed here which have received the appropriate technology to operate e-mail. As more courts are able to receive e-mail they will be added to this schedule.

The E-mail Court User Guidance available on this site consists of two documents, one for those wishing to use the services available at a county court and a separate set of guidelines for those customers for the Commercial Court.
