Ford launches programme to reform prisons
Justice Minister David Ford has said there must be root and branch reform of the Prison Service.
A series of critical reports and the interim report earlier this year by Dame Anne Owers underline the need for structural and cultural transformation, the Minister said.

Ford and Shatter sign forensic services agreement
Justice Minister David Ford and Irish Justice, Equality and Defence Minister Alan Shatter have signed a memorandum of understanding between the Forensic Science agencies at a meeting of the the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation on Criminal Justice Matters.

Ford heralds Historic Justice Bill
The Bill, with over 100 clauses and eight schedules, completed its scrutiny by the Assembly on the 23 March 2011 and is expected to receive Royal Assent in the next few weeks.
