Understanding your Self Assessment Statement

Introduction

When you send HM Revenue & Customs a Self Assessment tax return you'll get a Self Assessment Statement showing what tax you owe and how to pay. If you've paid too much it will show how much you will be repaid. If you fill out your tax return online you can view your statement before it comes in the post.
