The Climate Change Projects Office (CCPO) is jointly funded by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). We are a Government advisory office set up to assist UK businesses who wish to pursue opportunities arising from the Kyoto Protocol. We provide advice and support for projects which reduce greenhouse gas emissions and which could be eligible for tradeable emission reduction credits.
We provide information to companies on emission reduction projects and other climate change activities. We also deal with specific project enquiries and generally advise on developing emission reduction projects. We can provide advice to companies initiating their own response to climate change.

In December 2007, CCPO invited stakeholders to contribute to a review of the functions of the office. A discussion paper was published and in January 2008 CCPO held a stakeholder workshop. The Review has now been completed but feedback from the workshop, and information about the comments received from stakeholders are also posted on this website. There were 4 main conclusions of the Review:
(i) CCPO will remain the primary contact for business wishing to find out about the Kyoto Mechanisms
(ii) CCPO will continue to organise climate change trade missions
(iii) CCPO will continue to have direct links with business
(iv) CCPO will extend capacity building activities

Please note, the CCPO does not have any project funds. If your enquiry is related to a request for funding a UK based project, please refer it to the Carbon Trust (non-domestic energy use, R&D and some transport issues) or the Energy Saving Trust (domestic energy use and transport issues) instead.
