Area Performance Summary
The CPS currently comprises 42 operational Areas, each managed by a Chief Crown Prosecutor and an Area Business Manager. A national framework for performance management of the CPS Areas is in place in order to provide an assurance mechanism for the delivery of CPS business objectives.
CPS Areas are assessed against 15 key aspects and a number of secondary measures. Detailed performance reports are agreed with approximately half of the 42 Areas each quarter on a rolling schedule. Each quarter, about 14 of these Areas attend a meeting with the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Chief Executive of the CPS and the Director of the Business Development Directorate in order to assess Area performance, support strategic delivery and share good practice.
A condensed summary of Area performance against the 15 key aspects is published each quarter and is available via the link above.
