Downing Street press conference

Gordon Brown and Chancellor Alistair Darling will hold a press conference in 10 Downing Street at 09:00 GMT on Monday 19 January.

Mr Brown and Mr Darling will outline the Government’s latest measures to deal with the banking crisis and help get credit flowing through the economy.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the PM said his priority was the welfare of families and businesses and that the package of measures to be revealed this week would help enable a “resumption of lending”.
