ICT in primary and secondary schools: Ofsted's findings 2005/07

Since September 2005 Ofsted has selected a total sample of 60 primary and 60 secondary schools for the annual ICT subject survey. Primary schools were visited for one day and secondary schools for two days.

ICT in schools - effect of government initiatives: implementation in primary schools and effect on literacy

This is part of a suite of reports which complements ICT in schools: second interim report, which was published in March 2002. The publications are for teachers, heads of departments and senior managers in primary, middle, secondary and special schools. Each report covers the effect of the government's ICT initiatives on teaching and learning, and on pupils' achievement in each subject or phase of education.

This interim report is based partly on the findings of Ofsted’s national programme of school and local education authority (LEA) inspections, but mainly on visits to schools and LEAs. The visits included 128 primary schools, 44 special schools, 401 secondary school departments and 10 LEAs.
