Government to take action to tackle excessive council tax rises
In a statement by the Local Government Minister today to the House of Commons the Local Government Minister John Healey announced that the Government will take action to tackle excessive council tax rises set by eight authorities in 2008/09.

Submissions Closed
The closing date for submissions has now passed. Organisations have been advised on the outcome of their submission and the inspections of those short-listed for a visit will take place throughout June and July. The list of finalists will be published on the IRRV Web Site in w/c 11th August 2008

Employment and Support Allowance
