Dear Colleague,

LGPS : GAD FACTORS, REGULATION 29 48 and 126 : LIABILITY FOR COMBINED BENEFITS

I am writing to inform you that the Government Actuary’s Department (GAD) have provided us with a final version of factors and guidance for Regulation 29 48 and 126 : Liability For Combined Benefits.

This guidance replaces the original tables circulated under cover of Brian Town’s  letter of 6 May 1998. The guidance note has not been revised apart from small revisions made to paragraphs 15 and 16 and a correction to one of the examples.  However please note that  in paragraph 4 all references to Department  of the Environment  Transport and the Regions should be deleted and replaced by Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM).

Also the reference to DSS in paragraph 13 should be deleted and replaced  by reference to the National Insurance Contributions’ Office of the Inland Revenue as they are now responsible for the issue of GMP statements.

I am arranging for the latest guidance to be made available on our website which can be accessed at  www.xoq83.dial.pipex.com/index/GADFactors.

I am sending a copy of this letter to Terry Edwards, Assistant Director (Pensions) Employers Organisation  for information.

Yours sincerely,

Andrew  Lankester
