We are proud of the expertise and enthusiasm of the people we employ and we want them to feel fulfilled in their work. To ensure this, we provide clarity in our employment policies; remunerate employees for their contribution to our business; provide an occupational health service; support equal opportunities; maintain strong communication channels between different levels of employees; provide a safe working environment and improve learning and innovation by investing in training and development. We are also continuously seeking to educate employees about the principles of CR and our own commitments, as well as equipping them to implement these in their daily work.
Following a review of our existing CR strategy involving the identification of CR issues material to our business, we have chosen 'Employee Health, Well-Being & Satisfaction' as a high level commitment. This is underpinned by a statement of belief which gives the business rationale for the commitment. CR targets for 2008/09 have consequently been set under this commitment.
EMPLOYEE HEALTH, WELL-BEING & SATISFACTION
High Level Commitment:
We will ensure the health, well-being and ongoing development of our employees, and help and encourage them to make sustainable business decisions.
Statement of Belief:
We believe that our people are our single most important asset, and that they have a right to feel valued.
CR Target 2008/2009
- To promote health and well-being to all employees via a programme of at least three awareness raising events and via a web-based lifestyle questionnaire, for completion by employees, to help inform relevant health promotion activities for delivery in 2009/10.
