The Civil Service Code

The Civil Service Code sets out the framework within which all civil servants work, and the core values and standards they are expected to uphold. It was first introduced in 1996, and forms part of the terms and conditions of employment of every civil servant. A new Civil Service Code was issued on 6 June 2006.

Hard copies of the Code can be obtained from HR departments or by sending an email request to civilservicecode@cabinet-office.x.gsi.gov.uk or by telephone: +44 (0)20 7276 3968
