Levy Boards restructuring

A new levy board structure is being created to replace the existing levy bodies and is expected to come into effect on 1 April 2008.
There will be one overarching levy board called the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB). AHDB will be a Non Departmental Public Body (NDPB) and will have six wholly-owned subsidiary companies that will be Companies Limited by Guarantee. The subsidiary companies will cover the sectors covered by the existing boards. The sector companies are:
- BPEX Limited - English pig sector
- HGCA Limited - UK cereals and oilseeds sector
- Horticultural Development Company Ltd - GB horticulture sector
- EBLEX Ltd - English beef and lamb sector
- Dairy Co Ltd - GB milk sector
- The Potato Council Ltd - GB potato sector

- The Meat & Livestock Commission
