Lord Mandelson has been appointed Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform. John Hutton becomes Secretary of State for Defence.

A new Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has been created, with Ed Miliband as Secretary of State.

Further provisions of the Companies Act 2006 to improve company law and reduce burdens on companies - for example, a crackdown on company name 'squatters'.

Consumer Credit Act 2006

The final parts of the Consumer Credit Act 2006 which protects consumers and puts in place a more level playing field for businesses in the credit market.
